Of dragons

Some people may ask me why do I have a fascinations regarding dragons. Even as a child I always had a tremendous compassion and love for these mythological creatures-I always wished that they somehow could have had been victor and somehow could have won the love of the fair maiden.  So, how did the name come to be the title of  my blog page as they tend to be portrayed as frightful, horrible creatures to be loathed. Most have tough leathery wings, huge scaly bodies, often with multiple heads and gnashing teeth- always breathing fire.

Such hideous  creatures cannot possibly have any redeemable qualities as seen from a human point of view.  How could they? They are to be hated, they are to be feared and their fate is to be killed or annihilate by the brave knight on a white horse. Yet, underneath those scales of  that fire breathing creature beats, not one, but two hearts with eons of experience- and possessing  the wisdom of the ages.

Are not two hearts better than one? Is not a creature as such something special?  Or does he deserve to be killed simply for appearance`s sake?  Is he to be obliterated because we fail to understand him as he is outside our idea of the norm? In my mind it is all to the contrary-dragons are the heroes of  the tales, as their beauty, their goodness, their kindness, their compassion lies within, hidden from sight only to be seen with the eyes of the soul.

One needs to see beyond appearances. Beyond the legends. Beyond the scales. Beyond the illusion of ugliness for within him burns the eternal fire of passion, the wisdom and the intellect of many heads and of many ages. His scales reflect his valor and hardness of steel that is his power of character-always ready for battle in the name of righteousness: Yes righteousness- for he only knows truth and lives by honor. He is brave, courageous beyond measure-his strength extends from his soul that is ever the expression of the light of spirit. There is tremendous torrents of  love that  flows from the beating of those two hearts into the ocean of creation. And, above all he has the gift and grace of angels-for he can fly.
